I rented a car a GPS (TomTom) in Rome Italy yesterday. The GPS took me to different rout and I end up spent double of travel time and somehow manage to get a toll ticket of 65 Euro. I was lost and went through a toll in another town, they ask me to give them a Bigliette (toll pass)but I didn't have it so they charge me the total rout from North to South toll fee. I told them I paid to get out of Rome but I didn't get a Bigliette (toll pass) and they can't understand since I was lost so they gave the ticket instated of let me pay again to get through. Can someone please help? I only have 15 days to respond and then it will be another 50 euro as far as I know. Thank you!
Nadiya, I think this is one of those cases where you have to chalk it up to experience, pay the ticket and then just consider it an unexpected travel expense. Someone will no doubt post that you should just ignore the ticket, and you can do that, too, but I wouldn't. There are always unplanned-for expenses when you travel in Europe and if you do the math to determine the fraction 65 euro is of the total cost of your trip, it will put it in perspective for you. I hope.
