Hello!
I used the bahn.com train scheduling website to check schedules for a trip from Lauterbrunnen SW to Stuttgart. I came up with a 9-10 hour trip and would like to confirm with those of you who are more familiar with this that it is the correct time. The link for my search is below.
Thank you!
If you want to travel overnight, but during the day, it can be done with 3 changes in 5 1/2 hours.
Sam,
Thank you for your reply. Is there an option on the bahn.com website to select overnight travel?
Well, when you put in 20:32 as the departure time, you will travel overnight. Put in 7:00 as your departure time, then you will see daytime trains.
Thank you Sam.
Do I book this on the Swiss train site? I think it was you who so kindly suggested using the website of the country of origin.
Since Deutschebahn is showing a price, you can buy from them. Check the prices at SBB and compare the difference. EUR and CHF are almost equal in value right now.
Excuse me, but I am having trouble finding a station or stop called "Lauterbrunnen SW" on any website, the Bahn, SBB, or on Google Maps.
The station is just called Lauterbrunnen. The OP probably means "Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland", but the official abbreviation for Switzerland is CH, not SW.
Anyway, you should book this on www.bahn.de. And do not bother with travelling overnight, as there are no convenient overnight routings to be had for this trip. The example the OP gives involves a 3 1/2 hour wait in the middle of the night in Karlsruhe, something you absolutely, positively, do not want.
