Please advise on Vienna - Prague train option

Dear All, I'm new here and would require assistance with purchasing tickets from Vienna to Prague. I'm having hard times choosing trusted website for this destination. Would you recommend any of those?

https://rail.ninja/route/vienna-to-prague - is all quite clear here, although I'm not sure
OEBB _ I'm not sure which category should I choose since I'm not Austrian citizen
Trainline websites?

Are those resellers or can be used with no problem? Would be thankful for any input anyone would make!

I too had difficulties online purchasing tickets to Prague.
I just ran by the train station when I arrived in Vienna and purchased the tickets to Prague ahead of time. Then I didn't have to deal with customer lines, etc. on the morning I left.

Thank you for the quick reply, David!
The problem is that I need to purchase tickets in advance and it is only possible through the website only! That's a good option though in case you have an access to the train station :)

Alexander, Rome2Rio shows that RegioJet and RailJet runs the buses and trains between Vienna and Prague. Take a look at this link for help and links to tickets.

Alexander, If in doubt, consult "the man in seat 61". He has a whole page about Prague to Vienna, including where to buy tickets: https://www.seat61.com/trains-and-routes/prague-to-vienna-by-train.htm

I have never heard of "rail.ninja". There are lot of resellers on the internet, trying to get business from travellers who just search on the internet (like you). Most (with a few notable exceptions) either have a limited range of trains listed, and/or charge more than buying direct.
The first place to look should always be the company running the train. ÖBB ( https://www.oebb.at/en/ ) is Austrian National Railways and is your "go to" location for tickets in Austria. Whether you are an Austrian citizen or not does not affect anything.

The ÖBB is indeed the place to go. Payment by credit card and an e-mailed ticket for printing at home.
Advance buying gives you considerable discount. For an ad random date in February a ticket doesn't have to cost you more than some EUR 20. If the ÖBB doesn't work well, you can try Trainline, an agent working for a number of European railway companies and selling tickets at the same price.
Both websites work with English place names. The stations which show are »Wien (Hbf)» and »Praha hl.n«.

Usually for Vienna - Prague option Czech Railroad website is the cheapest. Because I don't know when you plan to go I put a random date January 9th. I found out that railjet costs 500 czk = $21.96 in todays exchange course. Regio Jet costs 375 to 799 czk depending on the class. 375 czk = $16.47
Go to http://www.idos.cz Scroll down and on the right side you will find the word English. Click on it and fill the required windows like date, hour and stations. Then click on buy, and website will change to cd.cz and you pay and then print your ticket. I did not investigate other sites but got the feeling that this one is probably the cheapest.

a week or so ago we went from prague to vienna, we booked our tickets, some months in advice via trainline.eu. ( the OBB site was more difficult to use). we have used trainline for a number of bookings this time, no problem.
FIY, we booked early and got 'inexpensive' 1st class tickets that also allow us to use the lounge at the main station/s. we used the one in vienna main station.
we also used the one in Salzburg main station this morning. a nice place to sit and wait, free tea coffee, fruit, etc toilets and friendly staff to help you with travel info.
hope this helps.

I did this 3 years ago easily online a month before I went. Vienna is Wien and Prague is Praha. Check which train station in Vienna is the one you will use. A seat reservation is a couple dollars. At the Vienna station, I learned a woman (fellow American) had just paid 3 times what I had for the same class when she got the ticket there.

I used RegioJet to travel from Vienna to Prague in September. Bought the tickets online ahead of time and it was very simple to do and worked out perfectly.
