For me $1375 is a lot for a direct flight. I would like a feedback from some one who has traveled from italy to Croatia on a ferry etc- how expensive, how long it takes, any related issuues etc.
Thanks again
You should figure on adding a full day to your trip - each way - if you take a ferry instead of flying all the way there. You will have to pay to get from where you land to a train/bus station, pay to travel to the ferry departure city, pay to get to the ferry dock, pay to take the ferry, pay for meals along the way and spend 8 hours or so on the ferry plus any waiting time for the next departure after you arrive at the dock. It might involve an overnight hotel stay. By the time you figure the value of you time plus these costs the airfare becomes a lot more realistic.
For me, too. But it is unfortunate reality. In high season it is still good price from the West Coast. I usually fly to Prague with change in Amsterdam (from Seattle) and price is sometimes up to 1500. Other destinations in Europe are not much different. I didn't know there was a direct flight from Seattle to Croatia.
