I will be in Ireland for 6 days and have an itinerary like this: July16-18 Dublin July 18 drive to Killarney July 19 hike the Killarney national park July 20 drive ring of Kerry Cork July 21 see Blarney Stone drive back to Dublin July 22 fly out of Dublin. What does anyone think of this trip? Thank you
George
It looks like a nicely paced trip to me, George. Is July 16 your arrival day, or the day you fly? (You arrive the day after you fly, unless you take a day flight.) This plan still gives you part of the 18th to finish Dublin before driving to Killarney. Are you planning to see anything along the way, like Rock of Cashel?
Get to the Blarney Castle early and beat the buses. I was there last month and had the castle to myself. The buses started arriving at noon. You can see the castle and the grounds in about 3 hours, at a leisurely pace without crowds. I would add another sight to this day. Also on your drive to Killarney stop at the Rock of Cashell. Realla a great spot to see. Make sure you get on a tour. It takes less than three hours to see it. Ireland is compact compared to the US. I drove from Dublin to Kinsale in one day with a stop at Rock of Cashell and Glendalough. With spending plenty times at both venues we still made our B&B by 6;00 pm
