We are flying AF from Seattle to Rome with a plane change in Paris. Do we have to go thru customs in Paris with bags or can we just board our Rome bound flight. Only 75 minutes between flights
If you're flying on a single ticket, your bags should be checked through to your final destination. You wouldn't have to retrieve them in Paris or go through customs there. Plus, you'd already have your boarding pass for the second leg of your itinerary. You will have to go through passport control in Paris and if you have to leave the secured area when you change planes, a second security check.
I flew thru Paris and changed planes there to go on to Istanbul. I never left the secured area but had to go thru a security check again before entering the corridor to my plane. I flew from Vienna to Amsterdam last Saturday and had to go thru security screening in both Vienna and again before the gate in Amsterdam even tho I did not leave the secured area.
In Amsterdam they were patting down every passenger which I attributed to it being 9/10, the day before 9/11. Plan for the worst case and hope for the best.
