I will be flying from Prague to Venice in April and are looking at flights with SkyEurope. Do I need to get trip insurance? Good idea or does it really matter? Thank you!

Trip insurance is most useful for travelers that are paying a lot of money out in advance, like those on organized tours or cruises. If your mostly paying as you go, it's usually not a good deal. For example for my trip to Italy next month they only thing I've paid for in advance is my $400 RT airfare from NYC to Milan. So should I have to cancel my trip at the last minute that is the only loss I will incur, all of my hotel reservations can be canceled without penalty. So it's up to you how much financial risk you are willing to put up with.
