Plan to fly Swiss or Austrian this year? Check prices.

I just got a great deal on Swiss.com for nonstop flights Chicago to Vienna (Austrian airline) returning Zurich to Chicago (Swiss Air).
Both airlines are part of the Lufthansa group so I was able to book both routes on Swiss on the same ticket.

$794 total (not including what I paid for seat reservations). Trip is for Sept. I hadn’t planned on booking this early, but I don’t expect the price to get any cheaper than that. I've been checking and the price has always been over $1000. I don't remember exactly, but I believe it's been around $1200.

Not all routes appear to be on sale though. I already have RT Chicago to Zurich booked for June and I rechecked that price and it’s still over $1000.

Prices are for economy plus (cheap seats + 1 checked bag).

Congratulations on getting such a good deal 😊. Swiss is a great airline and Zurich is definitely the best airport in Europe.

Hi Jane, Well, I’m flying into Vienna 😊 but then taking the train right to Salzburg, then Innsbruck, and St. Gallen. Salzburg seemed less intimidating to me. Plus, it’s closer to the mountains. 😊

Sure…..I get it……I LOVE Salzburg…….if you are like me you will find 50,000 adorable Christmas decorations that you want to bring home……go to the Gasthof’s Alter Fuchs there in Salzburg and enjoy a delicious bowl of soup….we LOVED eating there and staying in the Alstadhotel Wolf, right on the old town square of Salzburg….we were in Salzburg and celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary there…..were told to go and eat the Salzburg Nockerl, this incredible dessert that looks like a huge meringue……it’s at St. Peter Stiftskeller….great staff, very welcoming and wonderful atmosphere in this lovely restaurant. There is great info on a blog called KEVIN&AMANDA so google it and enjoy the research!
