We are meeting friends at CDG airport, but we arrive in Terminal 2C at 6 am and they don't arrive until 9:45 in terminal 1. Is there a lounge or comfortable waiting area we can go to after we get our bags to wait and maybe have a quick nap? I've read about lounges in the terminals that you can pay to use for a couple of hours, but then we would need to carry on all our luggage or not pick up our checked luggage for a few hours and we would prefer not to do that.
I can't think of anywhere that you could actually sleep. You could contact the Sheraton that's in the airport and see if they offer anything like that. There are cafès, restaurants, etc where you can sit. I'd also recommend waiting in your terminal rather than heading over immediately to terminal 1. They've made some improvements lately, but in general it lafs far behind the others in comfort. But give yourselves a while to get over there with the shuttle "navette".
Thanks for the advise. Do you know where the baggage claims are for terminals 2C and 2A? I've been checking the CDG terminal maps and can only see baggage claim in terminal 2F (which has a coffee shop) - is that for Terminals 2A & 2C also? We need to meet someone coming into Terminal 2A also before we head over to terminal 1.
A good place to meet the people coming into 2A is the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel which is directly above the TGV/RER station. Then all of you can take the free 24/7 CDGVAL driverless shuttle train to Terminal 1. Trains run every 4 minutes. Tell your second group to meet you at the Brioche Doree coffee shop in the public area of Terminal 1. Have coffee and a croissant while you wait for them to arrive.
