Picking up rail tickets in the UK

I will be traveling to the UK 0ct 14th-26th. I booked by train tickets on line. I will be traveling London-Oxford, Inverness-Thurso, Thurso-Edinburgh, Edinburgh-Manchester. The website says I pick up my tickets at a self-service machine using the card I purchased my tickets online with. Will I have a problem using my Debit card even though it doesn't have the chip. If I can't get my tickets will there be a manned ticket booth. Thank you for your help.

Hi Chad, I purchased rail tickets online in May and picked them up in June using a non-chip credit card. Staffing at stations depends on the size of the station and the schedule, I think. I deliberately chose to pick up all my tickets at the biggest station, so I would have an option of seeing someone in person if I had trouble with the self-service machine, but it all worked well. You definitely need the card you used to buy the tickets. You stick it in the machine. I had a confirmation number that I also had to type on the screen. Cheers.

Thank for the reply now I can rest. Can I pick up my Scotrail tickets in London or do I have to pick them up in Scotland?

Hi, I purchased online from ScotRail and indicating which station I would pick up the tickets was part of the process. .. When I indicated picking up all tickets at just Edinburgh, I had to confirm that was what I really wanted. .. You've still some time to figure things out. .. If no one has another reply, perhaps an e-mail or two to Scotrail to ask your questions will help: http://www.scotrail.co.uk/contactus/index.html
