I will be in Salzburg and want to rent a car for the drive on alpine strasse, romantic road, thru munich to rothenburg and Mainz and dropping the car at the train station in Frankfurt for a train to paris. which is a better location to get the car from Salzburg? from my research it looks like B. is easiest and cheapest to get to? but not sure. also, anyone know the train station where i want to drop the car for the train to Paris in Frankfurt? can i drop the car in Mainz as I am staying the weekend there. thanks for your help. i am leaving tomorrow for Prague! so quick advice would be helpful:)

Well, Freilassing is a quick (8 min) S-Bahn trip across the river from Salzburg. Berchtesgaden is an hour away, either by bus through Austria or by train from Freilassing.
