Is there any website that will by default list rental cars by total price, and not "recommended" or "best" or BS like that? Why would anybody want to always rent the car that provides the highest profit? I get tired of toggling on "cheapest" or "total price" every single darn time!
If memory serves me correctly, Auto Europe usually lists the cars from cheapest to most expensive by default. And I'm thinking that Costco did, too, although I could be wrong about that.
Kayak provides a drop-down menu for sort by, which includes “cheapest” option.

I am trying to get away having to do this extra step. Expedia is the same way. Why not list prices lowest to most expensive by default?

At least for Ireland they don't do this, list by agency kind of by pricing willy nilly in a table. For Ireland prices are not good.
Having some success with Irish Car Rentals but the with and without insurance is 236 euros vs 591 euros, for the same car!
If using a credit card with them for insurance, not sure what I have qualifies
The main driver must be the holder of an eligible US issued World MasterCard OR Gold/Platinum Visa Card OR Canadian issued Gold/Platinum Visa/MasterCard which allows you to waive Collision Damage Protection and Theft Protection in Ireland.
YOU MUST HAVE a letter from your credit card company on arrival confirming you have the relevant coverage in the Republic of Ireland. Please note, you will be required to leave an excess of €5,000. Drivers who arrive without a relevant card and letter, or those who do not have €5,000 available on their card, will be required to pay the premium for our Collision Damage Protection and Theft Protection cover (Premium Protection cover) at the local daily rate (€22-€30).
Costco
A winner! Prices by listing lowest first but manual transmissions only.
Edit: Just booked the manual transmission, over 100 euros less.
