Paying for seat reservation on DB Bahn?

I am about to book my tickets from Prague to Dresden on DB Bahn-- the savings fare is available, but it says:
Ticket with seat reservation
Per seat & per way 2,50 EUR (each for 1 train + 1 connecting train). The prices for reservation for the non German part of the journey vary, depending on the country.

Do I need to do this? I don't think I've ever reserved a seat on a European Train (except the Chunnel)..I would assume 2nd class trains were unassigned.

On express trains (ICE/IC/EC), seats are reservable in both 1st and 2nd class. On regional trains (RE/RB), neither 1st or 2nd class seats are reservable.

For only €2,50, I think I would reserve.
