I'm trying to complete my EasyJey flight for this summer on their website, but their payment page keeps refusing to accept my Visa (or MasterCard, which I also tried). It keeps saying that the expiration date is invalid. I can't find anywhere to contact customer service on their website. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any ideas of how to get my credit card to go through?
Update: I downloaded the EasyJet app and booked my flight on there. I didn't try to enter my credit card info again, since they offered ApplePay as an option. Thank god for smart phones!!
On the website possibly it wanted ddmmyy (European date style) and you entered mmddyy (American style). Just saying...
It was a pull-down menu for both the month and year. It was impossible to screw up, but it refused to take my credit card info.
Did you tell your CC provider that you would be making charges in Europe?
Mine will not approve overseas charges unless I alert them in advance, just like telling them in advance of the trip when and how long that I will be using my CC's and DC's in whatever countries I'll be visiting.
Same idea -alert the credit card. I have paid for EasyJet, NAS, Ryanair, Aerlingus, and various European trains from here via credit card with no issue other than alerting them if the first attempt was rejected.
I had this problem with train tickets for another country. Unfortunately, the only way I could get it to work was by using American Express CC.
Or you can set up a PayPal account, which works as well.
It wasn't an issue with my credit card being used with a foreign company, because I had that issue come up last week when purchasing something from overseas. I got a fraud alert text when I tried to complete the purchase. With EasyJet, I got no fraud alerts because the website wouldn't even try to process my card. I just kept saying that the expiration date was not valid. Same thing happened with both credit cards that I tried.
Bill,
It's good to hear you've now got your tickets. I also use the easyJet app. and it does make things easier (although I've never had a problem booking online).
One thought occurred to me which you could try in future. Try clearing the Cookies & Cache in your computer if you experience credit card difficulties. Sometimes that solves the problem. From what you've described, it sounds like the information in your computer wasn't getting through to the easyJet website.
