Passport info question for Eurostar

I'll be taking a train from London to Paris and back later this year. I had to enter passport info to get the tickets so I entered my current expiration date. I'll be renewing my passport before my train travel though, so I'll have a new expiration date. All other information will be the same. That won't be a problem, will it? If it is an issue, how do I correct it?

Thank you for any helpful information you can offer!

Don't you get a totally new passport number as well when you get a new passport ?

I would log into my Eurostar account information and update the passport info once you have it.

You want what is in their system to match the passport that you have in your hand the day you travel with them.

Kim, you might be right. I guess I've never paid attention. I really hope it's simple to update the information on the Eurostar app.

CL, thank you! The link you provided looks like it will do the trick. I have no idea why it didn't show up when I was googling this problem. I seem to have a black thumb when it comes to technology.

you do need to adjust it so that the API is correct. This provided to Border Force so it needs to be correct. API before travel is mandatory.

If you haven't noticed previously, you need to comply with check in times for Eurostar. Security clearance, UK Border Force and French border control all happen before you get to the waiting room. If you miss the check in, that when your ticket is checked, not when you entered the queue, you don't go.

Nigel, I've read that it's good to be at the train station 90 minutes in advance. That's correct, right?

Yes you should be at the station 90 minutes ahead. Depending on your day of travel and departure time the crowds can be significant. I had a train Brussels that happened to coincide with the departure for the train to Disney Paris - it was a madhouse.

If you download your ticket it will keep you abreast with requirements.

All the gen is here: https://www.eurostar.com/uk-en/travel-info/your-trip/check-in

Note that the gate closes 30 prior ...

I have been there when 45 minutes was plenty, way before Brexit and I have been there when 3 hours was barely enough. 90 minimum now, unless disabled or full whack First, I usually go for about 2 hours....

I've read that it's good to be at the train station 90 minutes in advance.

But don’t get there much earlier than 90 minites before. When I was there last fall, you weren’t allowed to get in the queue until the 90 minute mark.

advance.

If that is true you can as well fly...

Hardly, considering you don't have to schlep out to either CDG or Orly, nor in from the London airport, which takes a huge chunk of time out of consideration. Not to mention your carbon footprint is substantially lighter.
