I arrive in Athens at 9:00am Fri 8-Sep from the USA. I'm trying to determine how much time to allow for me to pass thru Passport Control & Customs. Athens is my final flight. I plan to take the subway from the Athens Airport (ATH) to the port of Pireus (75 minutes by subway) and then travel by boat to Poros Island. What is the earliest Departure time on Fri 8-Sep that I should reserve for my boat trip?

It really depends on how many other flights are arriving at the same time. It could be very busy when you land, or it could be just your plane going through passport control. But I don't remember it taking more than about 15-30 minutes.
Two other points - there is no customs to speak of. Also, will you be changing planes anywhere in Europe on your way to Athens?

A bigger concern is, will the flight arrive on time? I've been an hour late into Europe twice, maybe three times in the last eight trips.

I do not have any stops between USA (Philadelphia) and Athens. Therefore, I'm hoping there would NOT be much delay in arrival time in Athens. I am planning to reserve a boat departure time of 1pm. This would give me 4 hrs from my scheduled 9am airport arrival time.
