We'll be staying at Urbani Hotel near Porta Nuova station in Turin, Italy. Parking near the hotel is 20 euros/day. To lower parking cost, are there any ideas on parking alternatives within a mile of the Porta Nuova station?
When planning for our upcoming holiday in Turin I have found Tripadvisor's Turin Forum useful (there are back posts on parking in the city). In addition to the help from Turin inhabitants the Tourist Info office often chime in with detailed advice. Their website is also very good. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowForum-g187855-i842-Turin_Province_of_Turin_Piedmont.html http://www.turismotorino.org/index.aspx?ln=EN
Based on advice from our rental villa hostess, we parked at the cemetary on our trips into Turin this summer. We were staying outside of town, and it was an easy place to find inside the city limits but not in the middle. Parking was free, ample, and a bus to Porta Nuova was directly across the street. It was a very simple trip and we were very glad not to be driving in the downtown core in the midst of the World Masters Games. We also came back to the car late in the evening a few times and there was no issue with safety. I have the bus number and map at home somewhere, PM me if you would like more information.
