Parking car in Narbonne, train to Barcelona

Rick had a great tip in his Italy book. If driving in Tuscany, you can park your car at the train station in Orvieto for free and take the train to Rome. My wife and I have done this twice with no problems. We are looking for a similar tip for parking a car in southern France and taking the train to Barcelona. The City of Narbonne looks like a likely candidate. Has any one done anything like this? If so, we would appreciate any helpful information anyone can give.

Narbonne to Barcelona is a pretty long trip, not just a day trip. I don't know about car parks in Narbonne but make sure the one you choose does allow multi-day stays.

You might want to drive to Perpignan which is closer to the Spanish border. Parking at the Narbonne Gare is €14.80 per day. You can check on the parking facilities here. Why not consider driving to Barcelona with stops in Cadaques and Figueres to visit the Dali house and museum? Just a thought.

Thank you for the suggestion.

We are taking a couple of weeks to drive from Rennes to St. Remy. We've made a similar trip before, but were wanting to add new things, Gascony, the Bastides, and Barcelona. We were planning on spending 3-4 days in Barcelona, but I did not want to drive into the city. What would we do with the car? Yes, I was aware of the cost of parking in Narbonne, but it was still actually less than the car hire of dropping of one car and then hiring a second one. I had looked into parking the car in Perpignan, but Rail Europe showed no trains going to Barcelona from there. I will check their schedule again.

Thank you again for the information.

Cheers
