I am in the process of booking our train tickets in France for our September / October 2011 trip. We will travel through Paris on our way from Amboise to Antibes. We will arrive in Gare Austerlitz and then depart from Gare Lyon. Is 1 hour enough time to transfer between these two stations? Thank you in advance for the information.
They're across the river from each other. A bus might take five minutes, you can walk it in ten, probably less. Taxi is in there somewhere.
Thank you, Ed. Seems as we will have enough time to walk across the river.
If you're going to walk, go out the north side of Austerlitz and turn right (east) along the river and cross the first bridge (de Gaulle) you come to. Lyon is the building with the big clock tower in front of you.
It will be a little uphill.
Sandy we had this same transfer last September. Tried four taxis - all refused to take us as it wasn't far enough.
Finally convinced a taxi to take us when we offered the driver 20 euros for the journey. My husband gave him ten.
