Paris train station to the Rue Cler district?

I was quoted 40 euros for a private car for 4 taking us from the train station in Paris to the Rue Cler District. Is this a reasonable fare? I have no idea how far the drive is.

Which train station? From Gare du Nord a taxi should be about 20 euros or less, depending on how much luggage you have.

Yes, I found out it's about 2 miles so 40 euros is high. I'll take a taxi. Thanks!!

Assuming you don't have too much luggage, the metro is really easy to use too. We took a cab from the train station to our hotel the first time we went to Paris. Once we mastered the metro, which is really easy, we have used that mode since. It's cheap. Be sure to hold onto your metro ticket after you enter. Sometimes an official is checking tickets at the exit. You will use the Ecole Militaire metro stop for the Rue Cler. You can buy a carnet of 10 tickets at the ticket window.
