Paris to Venice. Flying with Easyjet.

My husband and I will be visiting Paris next September 2012. We've read that you can fly to Venice at low cost from Paris with Easyjet, and we are very interested on getting the tickets in advance (i.e. next month). Travelers from North America that have dealt with Easyjet might be able to help us with our questions. Also any other information or help would be greatly appreciated. Questions: 1. Can we buy advance tickets online with Easyjet from Canada? 2. How much time in advance could we buy the tickets? 3. Do we need our physical tickets or just the online conformation sheet. Thank you in advance.

Harold, Regarding your questions.... 1). YES, you can absolutely buy your tickets online from Canada (that's what I do)! You'll most likely be charged some "extra fees", including a fee for using a non-Euro credit card. That sort of thing seems to be normal when dealing with budget carriers in Europe. 2). I'd suggest buying your tickets as soon as your travel dates and times are finalized. Budget airlines often use a "sliding scale", so ticket prices will increase as the flight fills. It's important to note that in many cases, tickets are non-refundable and non-changeable once booked. Read the "Terms & Conditions" carefully so there are no surprises! 3). I normally just pack along the Confirmation sheet that's provided when booking is confirmed. As long as you have the Booking Number, that should be adequate. A few important points to note: > Budget airlines often don't provide any reserved seating. Therefore some couples may end up sitting in different sections of the aircraft. I'd suggest getting there early as that will provide the best chance to find two seats together. > Budget airlines usually have very restrictive baggage limits. If you think your checked luggage will be over their allowable limit, it's a very good idea to pay for the extra weight at the time of booking. I know the approximate weight of my main Backpack when it's fully loaded, and usually add a "safety margin" of a few pounds when I book the flight. If they find your luggage is over the limit at the time you check-in, the costs will be much higher. > Budget airlines often allow ONE carry-on item only. That doesn't mean "one plus a personal item such as a Purse or Laptop case", it literally means ONE ONLY of the approved size! Happy travels!

Lucky you will fly from Toronto as there is a better deal available: You can book a flight with Air France from Toronto to Venice with a "stop off" in Paris en route. Go to the Air France website and click on 'multi destination.' As an example, fill in: 1st flight, Toronto - Paris on 9/13 0650-0810. 2nd flight Paris-Venice on 9/18 1530-1710. 3rd flight, Venice-Toronto on 9/21 1005-1615. The first 2 flights are non-stop and the 3rd has a plane change in Paris. Total cost $1,007. To compare, a round trip Toronto-Paris is $926 on Air Canada or $931 on Air France. The lowest Easyjet roundtrip Paris - Venice is about $130 , plus all the extras. Easyjet is often the way to go, but sometimes there are better options.

Thank you for the information! Ken, Its nice to know that we can buy the Easyjet tickets from here; It will be less stressful to have them in advance. Tim, I never would have thought to check Air France for flights; actually this is a great option!
