I am trying to find a train for my son and I in June traveling from Paris to Trier for RS Tour. Which train station would I leave from in Paris and which is the best site to pre purchase a train ticket?
I really don't want to fly......

I suggest you get familiar with the German Rail (Bahn) website. You'll find schedules and for this route, probably the best advance purchase fares. I looks like most connections leave from Paris Gare de l'est and take about 3 hours by TGV or ICE. With sufficient advance purchase (3-92 days) you can get non-refundable, train specific tickets from the Bahn website for as low as €39/p.
