I need some help quick. I know the people who post on this site always give good advice. I thought it would be easy to get a train ticket from Paris to Salzburg. I always traveled by train before. But i am not sure where to go to in Paris to buy a ticket. I also didnt think it would be that far by train maybe 6 hours. How far is it really?? I am already in Paris and I have hotel reservations for the weekend of the 15th. Any advice from my fellow travelers would be appreciated.
Its an 8.5 hour journey with two connections. Trains depart from Paris-Est. You can purchase tickets at any train station in France.
If you have access to a printer, book your ticket NOW at www.bahn.de. The really cheap 2nd class Europa-Spezial Frankreich fares are gone for 15 September, but you can still get a 1st class Europa-Spezial Frankreich fare of €119 for the train that departs at 07:24 with only one change (Stuttgart). You'll arrive in Salzburg at 16:03. Why go 1st class? Because in this case the discount fare is cheaper than the standard 2nd class fare (€154).
Click on the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner for English. After you get summary timetables for Paris-Salzburg, look at the Savings fare column on the right-hand side of the page and click on "Check availability" for the 07:24 departure with only one connection. The discount fare is cheaper than the listing right above it that has two connections and the total travel time is only a little bit longer.
Thank you very much !!
