I am traveling to Euope this summer. I am going to purchase the Eurorail global pass. When I started reading about the pass I realized that I do not think that it includes London. Now, how do I get from paris to london and return??? Do I have to purchase another train ticket or am I mistaken and this global pass does go to London. Please help!!! Thanks
Hi. You can use your global pass to get a discount on a train ticket that will take you to London, but the eurorail doesn't cover London. The tickets are still quite expensive though-- even with the discount. Eurostar-- I think they are called.
Many ways to get from A to B - no advance purchase options, but some very intersting things to consider. I took the train from Paris to Calais, then the ferry to Dover. Train to London would follow - you get to meet some wonderful people! The obvious would be Chunnel - I haven't done that route, so no help there. Or fly...
I loved the trains in the UK - and for my month there, the Britrail pass turned out to have cost about the same as if I'd paid as I travelled. That was 2004, when 1 pound cost about $1.50. Now at $2 to a pound, I don't know which is the advantage.
