Is it possible to leave Paris at 730 am by Eurostar train and make it to Heathrow airport for a 12 noon flight back to US? My brother is trying this but I don't think it is possible if you have to arrive at Heathrow 3 hours in advance even considering the time change. Is the best way from st pancras station to Heathrow via cab or Tube? Thanks
He won't make the flight. He'll have to go through immigration when arriving at St Pancras, that will take up a chunk of time. He'll have to possibly wait in line to purchase the tube ticket to Heathrow, another chunk of time, not to mention the time it takes to walk through the various corridors at St Pancras, and the wait time for the subway train to Heathrow....it all adds up.
The Tube is the quickest and cheapest option to get to Heathrow. It's a direct via the Picadilly Line from St Pancras/King Cross. Taxi to the airport will cost in excess of 100USD.
Is there any reason why he doesn't fly directly into Heathrow?
What is your brother's travel date? I don't find any Eurostar trains departing at 07:30. Here are the earliest departure times:
Monday-Friday: Depart at 06:43 and arrive at 07:58.
Saturday: Depart at 07:13 and arrive at 08:28.
Sunday: Depart at 08:07 and arrive at 09:36.
The only one that might work is the 06:43 train, but I wouldn't want to chance it. There still is no way he can get to the airport a full three hours ahead of his scheduled departure. It's wise to spend the last night in the city of departure before a flight across the Atlantic. It would be much better to take the last Eurostar the night before and stay in a hotel near Heathrow.
Thanx to all who all agree he won't make it!
Passengers departing Paris for London on the Eurostar clear British immigration at Gare du Nord, before boarding the train.
There are British immigration checks at both ends of the journey.....right before you board the train in Paris, and another after arriving in London. Never quite understood why?
