Paris to Burgundy via Reims travel

We would like to spend a week in Paris, then catch a train to Reims, then Burgundy. How do we rent a car in Burgundy and is Reims worth an overnight visit?

I love the trains, but this is one situation where it might make sense to rent your car in Reims and drive.

You can return your car in Burgundy or elsewhere in France.

We always drive from Orly which is south of Paris.Pick up our rental car, get on the A6 ,drive down 2 hours and get off and explore.Driving is very easy in France... we have had no problems in over 20 years. If you really want to train, my suggestion is to rent a car before hand in Beaune, at the train station... and then train there, and drive around. We love Burgundy. Great villages, the Burgundy canal, lots of neat places to stay. Burgundy is on both sides of the A6 so don't forget the west side. AsI said ...easy driving.

We did this last year, thanks in part to Jane's suggestions, and loved it! We rented our car at orly, and it was very easy to drive in this area of France. We were able to stop and take pictures, and it was wonderful!
