Paris to Bayeux and back

Is it cheaper on the TGV site to buy a return ticket back to Paris at the same time?
I can't seem to get it to work.
I want to go the Bayeux on July 6 and return On July 7
Thanks

Hi Stew,

Since you have time and flexibility, it might be easier to purchase your ticket in Paris (or another city in France) when you arrive--I'm not sure if there would be a significant cost difference at this point.

The standard 2nd class fare is €32.80 each way. If you book ASAP at www.tgv-europe.com, you still can get Prem's discount fares at certain times of the day. To keep the site in English and to avoid being bumped to the Rail Europe site which doesn't offer discount fares, choose Great Britain as both your country of residence and the country in which you will retrieve your tickets. You might be able to print your tickets yourself. If not, you can pick up your tickets at any SNCF station or boutique (ticket shop) in France, even though you originally chose Great Britain.

I got a 15 euro one-way PREM price for my journey from Paris St-Lazare to Bayeux on June 11, but I booked quite a ways in advance (in April). I was able to print it at home--I just said my country was Taiwan (or Togo!) every time :) [I used the ticket with no trouble--the conductor didn't even need to see my ID, and you don't compost a home-printed ticket.] I haven't seen (or gotten) any round-trip deals on SNCF trains, whether TGV or otherwise. It's always just been two one-way tickets. Good luck!
