Paris Shuttles Late at Night

I embedded this in a similar topic, but no one has responded, so I'm making it it's own.

I've used the other transportation topics to decide on a shuttle from CDG to the hotel for various reasons (Don't want to drag around luggage between transfers on the train, safer, etc). However, we land at CDG at 22:00. Golden Air doesn't run that late. Paris Shuttle says that the driver's last pick up is at 23:00, but he'll wait for our us if our luggage takes a little while.

I'm hesitant to trust them. I imagine no one will answer the phone that late if the driver isn't there. Has any one used a shuttle that late?

Thanks a lot,
Andy

In your situation, I would opt for staying at one of the hotels at the airport for one night. The other choice might be to take a taxi to your hotel.

Andy, if I were arriving at 22:00, I would take a taxi even if there were more than 4 of us which would require 2 taxis. Sometimes these expenses just have to be included in the budget.

Also be sure to let your hotel know how late you'll be so that someone will still be at the desk to let you in!
Waking up the first morning and realizing I'm in Europe is a wonderful feeling. (Personally I do everything possible to stay in Paris rather than the airport--I've stayed at the airport and it just doesn't feel like Paris!
Enjoy!

Thank you both for your quick responses! Each make a valid point.

I think out hotel is not refundable, so I think we're stuck staying in town even if we wanted to switch to the airport. I should have posted this question before we booked.

Thank you for the tip on letting the hotel know we are arriving late. I didn't even think of that.

The taxi sounds like the way to go. I would imagine that there shouldn't be much traffic that late, so it probably won't be much more expensive than the shuttle for 2 of us (40 euros).

Thanks again for the quick responses. It's greatly appreciated!

Other very safe and convenient options include:

Noctilien buses run from 12:30 pm to 5:30 am #N121 goes to and from Charles de Gaulle Airport through Montparnasse.

Roissy bus to Paris : From 6 am to 11 pm, every 20 minutes after 7 pm

Air France Bus; CDG and Porte Maillot to 11 p.m.

All else fails, taxi . . .

To expand upon the point of notifying your hotel, most hotels have a cutoff point, where if you do not show up by that time, they consider you a no-show and will give your room to somebody else. However, if you tell them that you will be a "late arrival" and your expected arrival time and any other info, such as your flight number, they will hold the room for you. My understanding is that the cutoff time is usually 6:00PM. Maybe somebody in the hotel business could confirm this?
