For travlers who will visit Paris for only two days, what is the difference between the Paris Pass and the Paris Museum Pass? Are there any significant advantages to either?
The Paris Pass does not look a great deal. It packages the Paris Museum Pass with a Metro pass, a Seine boat ride a bunch of other minor site admissions. But the additional cost is quite significant - 89 Euro for two days compared to 32 Euro for the Museum Pass. It's hard to see that the additional attractions in the Paris Pass are worth spending $57 Euro more - certainly not for a boat ride and a Metro pass. Most of the basic advantages it advertises - admission to the top sites and the ability to skip entrance lines - are provided by the Museum Pass. Neither includes the Eiffel Tour.
The Paris Museum Pass is good only for selected museums and monuments. The Paris Pass includes the museum pass, a Paris Visite transportation pass, entry to some other attractions, and a variety of special shopping offers.
IMO, the Paris Pass is not a good deal. First of all, the Paris Visite pass is overpriced. For two days you will pay less by either buying two one-day Mobilis passes or a carnet of ten single tickets. Second, in two days there is no way you will be able to take advantage of everything included on the Paris Pass so that will be money wasted.
