The D-Day tour can easily be done as a day trip from Paris. Here's how to book: www.linkparis.com THE NORMANDY "D-DAY" TOUR An unforgettable one day trip from Paris. See both the Normandy D-Day Landing beaches and the Caen War Memorial. Depart Paris in the morning and return the same evening via mainline rail. Normandy "D-Day" Tour Itinerary Start the day with a guided tour of the Caen War Memorial, then enjoy a leisurely lunch in the Memorial cafeteria. Afterwards, enjoy a full guided D-Day landing beach tour. The landing beach portion of your tour includes visits to the following main sites : The artificial harbor at Arromanches The German gun battery at Longues-sur-Mer The American Military Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer Omaha Beach The Pointe du Hoc The landing beach tour lasts approximately four to five hours. Transportation provided in an air-conditioned mini-van (up to 8 persons max per van). The "D-Day" tour includes : Pick-up at the Caen railway station in the morning by a bilingual guide. Guided tour of the WWII area of the Caen Memorial Lunch at the Caen Memorial Guided tour of the D-Day Landing beaches in the afternoon An illustrated handbook (A Memorial de Caen publication) : "The D-Day Landings" Drop off at the Caen railway station in the early evening for the return trip to Paris.
LinkParis gives the option of booking your rail tickets, or you can do it yourself and $ave. (Caen is 2 hrs by rail from Paris, Gare Saint-Lazare). This is a FANSTASTIC one-day tour and I highly recommend it!!

Take a train to Caen or Bayeux, stay overnight, and arrange a day from there. There are a number of touring working out of either town.

I'd go ahead and take the train to Bayeux and plan to spend the nite there. Check out these D-Day tours: Dale Booth Normandy Tours - he was our guide on our Battlebus tour, and he was superb.
The previous owners of Battlebus tours have a website called DDayHistorian.com so might want to take a look at that also.

Molly, I agree with the previous suggestions to take the train to Bayeux and book one of the local tours. I've toured with both Dale Booth and Paul (ddayhistorian) and they're both outstanding Guides! Check their respective websites for information on the tours offered and the costs. At the end of the tour, you could have the Guide drop you at the station and then take the train back to Paris (the Hotel that you use for one night may be willing to store luggage for the day?). If you do decide to take one of these tours, I would highly recommend pre-booking as early as possible. Happy travels!

The quote is clearly attributed to www.linkparis.com. That's where I bought my tickets. Ed needs new glasses, or er something?

Molly, There is no direct train service from CDG to either Bayeux or Rouen. You will need to go into Paris and take a train departing from Gare Saint-Lazare. There is no train service at all to Honfleur. You will need to go into Paris and take a train from Gare Saint-Lazare to either Deauville, Lisieux, or Pont-l'Evêque. Then take a " Bus Verts du Calvados", line n° 20 or n°50, to Honfleur.

I do not want to take the train from CDG to Paris then to Rouen I would really like to take a car (3) from the airport to Rouen Bayeux -hon Fluer Meet up with 2 more there. A total of 5 will spend one nite and have a guided D Day highlights trip all day on June 2nd. That evening return to Paris the nite of the 2nd. We do not need a guide on June 1st just -June 2nd we need a guide. We only need a driver the 1st of June because I do not want to rent a car to drive. I will be too exhausted from traveling Thanks -

If you truly want to stop in Rouen and Honfleur on your way to Bayeux, then hiring a driver from CDG is about the only way to do it. However, I have no idea on how to arrange that. A bigger question is why you would want to do it on a day when, in your own words, you will be exhausted from traveling. I'll stick to my recommendation that you go into Paris and take a train directly to Bayeux.
