Paris Nord to 7th?

We are arriving on a Sun. afternoon at Paris Nord via the Eurostar from London and need to get to our accomodations in the 7th. Should we attempt the Metro or take a taxi? I think it is on the light purple line (that's the color in my guide book)on the right bank. We are traveling with two kids and obviously a stroller and luggage.

Treat yourself to a taxi with 2 kids, stroller, lots of baggage. The Metro can be challenging with all that stuff.

I agree. Or consider a pre-arranged shuttle and they'll be waiting for you when you get off your train and take you to where you're going. No waiting in line for the taxi.

I'd suggest about public transportation in general that you give it a few tries before you buy a big pass. Up and down all those stairs with a stroller! My mom thought she'd do ok, but it didn't work out that way. When you've bought a pass you feel the need to use it a lot, when your money may be better spent on taxis. Buses may work for you, or they may not.

A taxi will be a bargain for you. Don't try a shuttle. Too confusing.

Call me a cheapskate but I didn't take a taxi with 8 suitcases, a toddler, and a two metro change and four blocks to the apartment. Ok I only had one kid and maybe we SHOULD have taken a taxi, but anyway here is how we did it.

My mom stayed with the kid at the trainstation, lucky for us there was a carousel there. My husband and I trekked all of our stuff to the apartment. and returned empty handed. My son for being so good got to pick the bus or the metro, and choose the bus, we then bussed our way back to our apartment.

I don't know why we didn't take the taxi except that maybe because the charge per bag, it just isn't in my nature. It helped that two of the bags where backpacks. We bungied an umbrella stroller to the backpack.

Troto you are a cheapskate. ( LOL )

You said I could call you one,, and since you wasted at least one hour of touring time you deserve the moniker. Repeat after me, time in Paris is precious, be it an hour, a day , a week or even a month. Time must not be wasted..unless one is sitting in a cafe, in which case one is in fact not wasting time at all, but exploring the culture,,,LOL

But back on topic, Troto, you had three adults and yes that makes a difference. Janna, take a cab , it won't cost that much , may be 10-15 euros.
And for goodness sake pack light, remember you can always buys stuff there and do laundry etc
