Paris left luggage/lockers, and travel time CDG to Paris Nord?

Hello! I'm headed to Paris this January, and had a couple of questions that I have not been able to find answers to. 1) Are there any facilities (like lockers, baggage checks, etc.) to leave luggage in either CDG or Paris Nord? If so, does anyone know approximately how big they are? 2) How long should I expect it to take to get to Paris Nord from CDG? So if my flight arrives at 6:45 am, what would be the earliest TGV/Thalys that I could take? Thank you for your help!

Natalie, To answer your questions.... > AFAIK there are no "Left Luggage" faciilities at Paris / CDG (removed for "security reasons"). I believe there are Lockers at Gare du Nord, however I've never had occasion to use them. I don't have any information on the size. > I assume you're planning on using the RER "B" to get from CDG to Gare du Nord? If that's the case, the time could vary to some extent according to conditions at the time. That actual travel time is ~30M from what I recall. The automated ticket Kiosks will only accept the newer "chip & PIN" credit cards or Euro coins. If you have to queue at the ticket office to use an older credit card, there could be a LONG wait. You may find it helpful to have a look at This Website, as it provides LOTS of information. > I'd leave lots of time to get to Gare du Nord. If a lot of flights arrive at the same time, that will delay getting through Immigration / Passport control. After that you'll need to buy tickets for the RER, get to Gare du Nord, locate the Left Luggage and store your gear and then get to the track for your Thalys departure (all this while tired and jet lagged). If I was taking the same trip, I wouldn't plan on departing from Paris before 11:00. Hopefully the others will have some opinions on this as well. Happy travels!

Somebody posted a while back that there's a left luggage facility (not lockers) at the airport operated by Bagages du Monde. At Nord you must pass through a security screening system to get to the lockers. The line can get long. A medium one will hold a stuffed carry-on, a heavy jacket, and a small duffel /big purse type thing. Your question doesn't make a lot of sense if you're willing to leave your stuff in either place. Where are you going next and how long's the delay? You might be missing something/needing to ask an additional question.

There are Baggages du Monde left-luggage facilities at both Terminals 1 & 2. Google for location and rates. If I were you, I would not be comfortable trying to connect with a train at Gare du Nord before 1:00 pm. Your plane could be late and you have to dump your luggage either at CDG or Nord and that could be time consuming.

Many thanks for the tips! To clarify, I'll be arriving in Paris, then traveling in Belgium and the Netherlands for a week, and then returning to stay in Paris for two weeks. With a 3-week trip in winter, I'll have to pack heavier than I'd like, and would prefer to leave some of my luggage in Paris rather than haul it around on my travels beforehand. I've found TGV/Thalys trains to Belgium that depart from both Paris Nord and CDG, so depending on the time (and where luggage facilities can be found), I could depart from either. Thanks again for all the help!

Natalie, You might also keep in mind the return trip to Paris--which location would be the easiest to pick up your bags? Will your return trip be to CDG or gare du nord?

Gare du Nord has both lockers and staffed left luggage facilities so the size of your bags is not an issue. However, I think there might a time limit (perhaps 72 hours). If you will arrive on a weekday, you'll do much better storing your bags at Blue Marble Travel which is in central Paris. It's a bicycle tour company, but they offer both short- and long-term luggage storage for anyone. You don't have to sign up for a tour to use their facilities. And they will be much cheaper than Gare du Nord. See www.bluemarble.org.
