Hello All!
The train I am intending to take into Paris arrives at Gare de l'Est at 12:49 and our Eurostar train leaves at 14:15 from Gare du Nord. Is an hour and 25 minutes enough to get from Est to Nord and to our Eurostar train? I'm not familiar with Paris' train stations, so I had no clue. Thanks in advance for all your help, you are all such a blessing!
Lizzie: Looking at my map, when you exit the Gare de l'Est at the front, turn right and at the corner of the station turn right again onto rue d'Alsace. Walk up Alsace to rue Dunkerque (Canadians all know that name), turn left on Dunkerque and Bob's your uncle, the Gare du Nord is just a short bit away. 8 to 10 minutes should do it.

Don't forget your 30 minute check-in time which is strictly enforced, so you need 45-60 minutes. So unless your incoming is late, you should be fine.
If it were me, I might try to leave a little more time to find a meal to have on the Eurostar. There's plenty of choice at the station, before you go into the secure area upstairs, and at a better price.
Nigel, is there a 30-minute check-in for all trains? i.e. I am taking the TVG from Paris, do I need to be at the station 30 minutes before it leaves?
Kathy,
The 30-minute check-in is only for the Eurostar because passengers have to go through security and passport control.
You are free to jump on a TGV at the last minute.
Be warned that the rue d'Alsace route includes some steps in the street which the last time I was there were a little bit run-down. If you have heavy luggage you might want to take a less direct but flatter route by taking the main Boulevard de Magenta.
Thanks for all the information! So, it looks like I will purchase tickets for the train that arrives at 12:49, as we will be able to make it to our Eurostar train on time. Thanks for the warning, Philip, its good to know, although we are planning on packing very light. Thanks again, you are all awesome!
