Paris DeGaul airport

We will be flying through cdg airport to athens this fall. There is only one hour between flights. I read that one guy almost missed his connecting flight because he had to go through security again, although apparently all in terminal 2. Is one hour enough, and what is the security deal? I thought once in, that was it. Not so?

Kenneth, that is very tight, but, if this is all on one airline( or codeshare) ,, and just a connection, seems if they booked it they will make it work. If however this is two seperate flights,, booked as two seperate trips,, then I would say that was a bad flight connection.

Air France, for one, is notorious for booking tight connections at CDG. However, as Pat says, if you are traveling on one ticket and are booked through on one airline or on codeshare airlines, then it is up to the airline to get you on the next available flight if you miss your connection.

Terminal 2 has five sections (A-E). You probably will arrive at one section and depart from another. I believe that going through security is standard procedure when making such a connection at CDG.

I think the general concensus is that 1-1/2 - 2 hours is the minimum for connecting through CDG. If you decide to stay with the 1 hour connection do some research in advance on what you can expect the next flight to be. It it were me, I would call the airline and make them give me a longer connection time.

kenneth,

You might want to check (if possible) to find out what Terminal your flight from the U.S. arrives at, and what Terminal your flight to Greece departs from?

One hour between flights is VERY tight! If several flights arrive at the same time and Passport control is overwhelmed, you could miss your connecting flight.

As the others have said, if you're flying on a "code share" ticket, they will get you there eventually.

Good luck!

Thank you everyone. I called Delta who gave us an earlier flight allowing a 3 hour turn around. What a relief. If we were to miss the connection it would mess up the cruise people meeting us at the Athens airport, which we have already paid for.
