We are in paris and are intrested in using the Velib bikes. They look really cool and are all over the place. I have been on the Velib web site and would like the 7 day pass. Problem is the english version of the site is only 1/2 english and I can't find a way to get a rental process started. Has anyone done this?

The kiosks are all over Paris. In fact you can rent them for (I think) and 1/2 hour and its free.
When we were in Paris, there was one right at my apartment. You would swipe your card, select a bike rack, take the bike and pedal all over Paris. When you're ready to return it, you find an empty slot, store your bike on it, and enter the code in the keypad.
Supposedly there's kiosks very few blocks, so renting should not be a problem.

But if you have an American credit card without the security chip, your card won't work to rent the bike.
