I have used Shuttle-Inter private car service twice, both times were fine,, but best of all,,, they require NO upfront payment,, or even you CC number, so if there is any issue you can just jump in a taxi and not worry about "wasting" your money like I have heard others when they prepay, then wait for hours. You will always find and good and bad reviews for anything, usually people are more likely to post a bad review( as they are steaming) then a good one, so take what you read with a grain of salt. I personally would avoid shared shuttle buses,, you end up having to do a milk run to get where you want, often when you are really tired and just want to get to your apt or hotel . If you are all reasonally fit and travel light, the RER is a good option. I used the private car service once when travelling alone with my 11 yr ,, and I knew after travelling for 24 hrs she would be a mess, and another time I used them when I had heard of a threanted metro strike. Usually I get on the RER, its the fastest.

Hello, Amy! What is your final destination in Paris? What shape are the five of you in (besides exhausted LOL!) - are there any slow walkers, will you be dragging lots of luggage, are you expecting to use the metro or buses while you're in Paris? Five 20-somethings may plan on running up and down the metro stairs with no problem, while more 'mature' travelers may be planning on using the bus system because it's something like 3 steps in and out. The RoissyBus might turn out to be the best solution if it's 2 blocks from your hotel...And I concur with Pat's advice...but if we know exactly where you're wanting to end up, that will be better for you.

Thank you for your replies! I am traveling with my parents and 2 sisters. We are all so opposite- as far fitness (68 yr old mom does not exercise but in okay shape-75 dad was an olympic cyclist and it tip top shape), eating( one sister is always on a diet, dad eats at 8am, noon and 6pm-that should be fun), budget(one sister has 9 kids, I have no kids,my dad is cheap as the day is long)! I think the private car service may be the way to go. We will be exhausted. Of course, my mom won't want to walk, dad won't want to pay so that leaves me to spring for it:)No worries...I do not have 9 kids! I wonder why my husband did not want to come along??? :) Thanks for your help!!!

hi, this is jme and all of my flights overseas. yes, you can be fatigued when you get there, but so far, both times for me, I WAS SO STOKED once i got into the city and got my room. I couldnt wait to get out there and play tourist. one comment. if youre going with a private shuttle/taxi or something like thats great, but i would use the tube. its sweet, fast and you will probably use it anyway, so what better time to learn than going into Paris? iirc, if you google "how to get from CDG to Paris" or something to that affect, someone has posted some pics and instructions on using the RER. I read it and iirc, it was spot on! just so you know, once i read it and then did it, it was like deja-vu. happy trails.
