Hello, we will be taking a train from Evesham into London Paddington early am and need to find the most efficient (cost isn't an issue) way to get from Paddington to St. Pancras to catch a Eurotrain to France. I especially need to know how much time to allow for the transfer. Thanks!
You can take the circle line to St Pancras (five stops away). The subway journey should take about ten minutes. Once you arrive at the St Pancras/ King Cross stop it will take you about 5-10 more minutes to navigate the various underground passageways to make to the Eurostar portion of the station.
Thanks for your reply, Michael. I appreciate it!
There are two ways to do this:
The first and rather grand way is to walk out of Paddington Station, hold your hand up high in the air and yell
'OY OY TAXI !!!!'
As if by magic a black cab glides up and you say 'St. Pancras please G'vnor' and sit back and relax ( the cost is about 20 quid ).
The second way is to take the circle line on the underground direct to Kings Cross, St Pancras.Don't take the Hammersmith and City Line even though it goes to the same place - there are too many stairs. ( the cost is less than a fiver )
A taxi will take about 10 Minutes and the tube about 25 minutes. Add 15 minutes to both journeys in the rush hour.
Hi! What time will you be reaching Paddington? I ask because if you arrive there at rush hour, it will be mobbed and so will be the tube. Getting a taxi at Paddington is not so easy....you have to get into a queue which is usually very long (but very well-organized!) and sometimes the wait is considerable.
To reach the taxi queue, go outside the station to the right of the tracks. It is signposted. I use Paddington all the time coming into London and so am fairly familiar with it. The other thing to consider is how much luggage you will be carrying..not so easy on the tube with luggage.
