Oyster Photocard

I'm taking my friend's 17 year old daughter to the UK for two weeks. She is going to order the Oyster Photocard online. My question is how do they work? I will just swipe mine, but since she has a photo, will she have to show it to someone?

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to the child Oyster card. Do be sure to have proper letter allowing you to have a friend's daughter with you overseas.

Usually just swipe in. I think it's mostly bus drivers who will want to see the photocard.

Nigel, I am having her mother write a letter stating that it's ok for me to take her. She is going to have it notarized. I don't think we'll have a problem. Do you think that will be enough?

Thanks Philip. She tried to order it yesterday with no success, so we won't be getting it, I don't think. It says it takes 3 weeks, so I imagine she's out of luck.

Regarding the letter, I'm nothing to do with the Authorities and don't play them on TV so I don't know how many hoops they will want you to jump through but it sounds like a reasonable attempt at answering any questions they may have....
