Good to know. The Austrian Nightjet is what I use along with the EN in a compartment.

The night link Warsaw to Kiev looks very doable but no need for a sleeper. Maybe it stops first in Lviv prior to proceeding to Kiev.

Why is the Man in Seat 61 being described as infamous?

I don't know why, but somehow "infamous" has lost its negative connotation in recent years.

"Infamous" has not lost its negative meaning for me. "Famous" is a good thing; "infamous " is a bad thing. Seat 61 is a very good thing indeed, and deserves his fame.

Thanks for taking the time to share this link with us. Great info for future use. In years past, the 70’s and 90’s we took quite a few night trains. We also took overnight ferries in those days of travel. Our last night train ride was from Munich to Rijeka, Croatia in 2012.

I used infamous tongue in cheek, to me it doesn't have only the negative meaning it used to.

I love the Man's work and envy his lifestyle.

he'd be famous then, not infamous.

John Wilkes Booth - infamous.

Shakespeare - famous.

Nigel: Your concise and sensible contributions are earning you a certain amount of, uh, "renown" too.
