Is there an overnight train from Munich to Cannes or Nice? We are going to have a EuroRail pass and are willing to upgrade to a sleep cabin, can my girlfriend and I stay in the same cabin, how would that work? Are there any airlines that fly Munich to Nice, Cannes, Monaco, etc??

Air Berlin flys from Munich (MUC) to Nice (NCE). Probably a lot less expensive and certainly faster than a night train.
On the night train, most have mixed sleeping compartments. They also have all female. On 4 and 6 bed compartments, you get to share with 2 or 4 strangers who may all not get on where you did. On many trains, you can get a 2-bed compartment. It all depends on which train run you can get.

its 150EURO each for a flight. I am considering taking the overnight train from Munich on 8/28 to Genoa, enjoying the morning and then taking the 3.5 hour train to Nice so we'd get there around 14:00.
