overnight train without eurorail pass

We are planning an overnight train trip from Paris to Munich, in mid-March as part of our European holiday. I have looked at the prices for either a select-saver eurorail pass and point to point tickets. Depending on our travel plans, it might be cheaper for us to buy point to point tickets rather than a select saver pass. We need an overnight train ticket from Paris to Munich preferably in a T2 or double sleeper compartment. I can’t find exact pricing for this option that include overnight supplements and reservation fees. Any suggestions or ideas?

Jessica- Don't forget the currency conversion when comparing Eurrail to point to point travel in Europe. Last month I went from Brugges to Berlin point to point. By the time my credit card was charged it was $212 USD. I now wish I would have gotten a three country, four day, Eurrail pass. I could have gotten a Second Class pass for about $280 USD [I think that was what the price was on RS Rail passes]. I wish I would have done it now.

The standard fare for a T2 sleeper with wash basin is €156/person. The SparNight (discount) fare for a bunk in a four-person couchette is only €49/person. Book at http://nachtzugreise.de as far in advance as possible if you want to get the SparNight fare. Whichever kind of tickets you book, you can print them yourself.

If you have railpasses that cover France and Germany, the supplements are €24 for a bunk in a four-person couchette and €52 for a bed in a T2 sleeper with wash basin. You can pay for those supplements at the same site I gave above. On the drop-down menu under "What is required?" choose "Accommodation surcharge only, ticket exists." The ticket in this case is your railpass.
