Overnight Train Travel

I have purchased a couple guidebooks on Europe by Rail but Im still confused on overnight trains. If you could offer any help on better books websites, or personal suggestion, I would be very grateful. I am trying to travel from Amsterdam to Berlin, Krakow to Venice, Venice to Rome, Rome to Florence, Florence to Milan, Milan thru the So. Part of France (any suggestion on where to go would be great) on our way to Madrid (or any other suggestions in Spain would be appreciated too), and then Madrid to Paris, Paris to London, then London back to Amsterdam. Thank you for any help you can offer!

I assume that at this stage of your planning you're most interested in knowing which of your routes have night train service. The best site for detailed timetables for virtually all of Europe is www.bahn.de. Click on "Internat. Guests" to view it in English. After you enter a departure date and time, you will get summary timetables. Click on "Details for all" to see connecting points, if any, and a description of the kind of train for each leg. Night trains will be clearly identified.

Use European spellings, when appropriate: Venezia Santa Lucia for Venice, Roma for Rome, Firenze for Florence, Milano for Milan.
