Overnight Train from Paris to Venice

I'm traveling with my girlfriend and considering the overnight train from Paris to Venice before exploring Italy. We'd really only consider a private sleeper. Any suggesions/advice on getting the best fare? (earlier in the trip we'll be taking the train from London to Paris)

Thanks!

scott,

My preference on that route would be a flight with one of the budget airlines, as it will be both shorter and probably cheaper than a night train.

For example, EasyJet currently shows flights from either CDG or ORY to VCE for as low as €29.99. The flight is just under two hours, but of course you'll have to allow time for check-in, security and the usual airport routine.

Cheers!

Simply put, sleeper are expensive (and overrated). They are not more comfortable than a standard cabin in a cruise ship. The difference? It jolts instead of swing.
