Overnight layover at CDG. Suggestions?

On our way home from Rome we have an overnight layover in Paris at Degaulle airport. We get in at 10:00 pm and leave 11:00am the following morning? Any suggestions on a painless hotel stay(ie- a good and reliable shuttle and decent accommodations) for the evening. Is the Sheraton at the airport worth the huge price tag? I welcome all suggestions. Thanks.

Novotels run a couple of hundred bucks per night, at least. On the airport, but not in the terminal, are an ETAP and a Formule1, both served by the same Accor shuttle. The rooms are identical, but the F1 has only a sink in the room. Both are immaculate, but spartan. F1 will run about sixty bucks a night and the ETAP fifteen more.

And there are Ibis hotels at Terminals 1 and 2, more expensive than Ed's recommendations but cheaper than Novotel.

I don't think there is an Ibis hotel at either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. The Ibis Paris CDG Airport Hotel is located next to Terminal 3 and is close by a stop on the free 24/7 CDGVAL driverless shuttle train that connects all the terminals. Ibis hotels are part of the Accor chain and are one step higher in price from Etap hotels. The Etap and Formule1 hotels that are closest to the airport are the Etap Hotel Roissy CDG Paris Nord 2 and the HotelF1 Roissy Aeroport CDG PN 2 Hotel. They are located next to each other and are served by the free Accor hotel chain shuttle bus that operates from 05:15 to 23:30. There is also an Ibis hotel at the same location.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn which is a shuttle ride away, along with several other hotels. It was typical, in that it had airconditioning, nice towels, comfortable beds, and an expensive breakfast in the restaurant. These hotels near Roissy are not close to very much without a car. A word about a possible flaw of Formule 1 near the airport: it offers "refreshed air".That may not be an issue for you. When I stayed in Avranche, the smallish window provided the only ventilation. The one double bed were adequate ( teenager refused to sleep in the top bunk), bathrooms down the hall clean, and the price was great.
Soulless? I dunno, creature comforts sometimes trump.
