I need to find something fast. Our Daughter-in-law is in the middle of a misadventure with Norwegian. She was to be flying last night direct Newark to Rome, she starts a semester abroad Tuesday and was giving herself an extra day. This flight of course was canceled by Norwegian, emailing her about 4 hours prior to takeoff while they are driving to Newark (and why could they not do this mid-day when they knew that this plane was actually cancelled at the Rome end?). After the huge confusion and lines, Norwegian held a plane to Copenhagen and they put her on it, which finally left at 6:30 this morning. They have booked her for Copenhagen to Rome tomorrow morning at 10:20. Any other offered options were for the end of the week. AND this at least gets her there in time for her first program meeting.
I want to get her some useful info for where to spend tonight, flight scheduled in around 7PM, and given that she needs to be back at the airport 8AM or so. We know of nothing quick around there, only that it's easy to get the Metro to the airport.
Does anyone have any quick suggestions?
And yes, they will be making a claim under Rule 261 for compensation beyond her expenses, mainly because Norwegian handled this so badly.
