Anyone know how long it takes to get from Orly to De Gaulle in Paris? I have a 2 PM flight stateside from CDG the day I leave Europe. Knowing this, I researched EasyJet flights from the last stop on my trip, Rome. They have two flights, one morning and one evening. As the morning flight gets into Orly at about 11 AM, I was wondering whether it would be feasible to get the morning flight to Orly and go straight to CDG with any time to spare. If not, I think I could handle an extra day or evening in Paris. :)Your thoughts, please. Thanks!
I would allow at least two hours between the two airports. My Metro-RER map of Paris shows a connection called " Antony:liaison ORLYVAL" (a bus, I would guess) between Orly and RER B. RER B3 goes to CDG. However, if you need to be at CDG 1 or 2 hours before your flight, and if you have checked luggage to pick up at ORLY, you might not have time to make the connection. You can Google www.aeroportsdeparis.fr to get more info. I think I would take this connection as an excuse to spend an extra day in Paris.
Mike,
You absolutely do NOT have time to make this connection. Ideally, you should check in 2-3 hours before your flight leaves CDG. That means you'll be landing at Orly about the time you should be at CDG. Force yourself to "endure" an extra night in Paris . FYI, the Orlyval is a driverless shuttle train that runs between the Antony RER station and Orly.
Thanks for the replies, guys. I think I'll be able to survive "enduring" an extra day in Paris - what sweet torture that'll be. Cheers!
