I will be arriving in Orly Airport at 6:50am in June, I do not know which terminal right now but I am coming from Berlin if that helps. I have a France-Spain Eurail Youth pass. I know I need to make a reservation on a TGV train and there will be a fee. I need to know approximately how long it will take to get through customs and to the train station where I get on the train so I can know which train departure time to choose when making the reservation. I also need to know what the names of the train stations are and how to get from Orly to the TGV train. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
All TGVs to Nice depart from Gare de Lyon. There is a direct TGV that departs at 08:49, but if your plane is late you'll miss the train. The next direct TGV departs at 10:49. Be sure to buy your seat reservation in advance from Rail Europe. SNCF limits the number of seats it allocates to passholders. Even if the train is not sold out, you might be out of luck if you wait to buy a seat reservation at Gare de Lyon. The cheapest way to get to Gare de Lyon would be to take the airport shuttle bus to the Pont de Rungis RER station. Then take the RER C to Bibliotheque Francois Mitterand and Metro line 14 from there to Gare de Lyon.
Adding to my previous post. The fare for the airport shuttle bus is €2.50. I don't know how much time the bus ride takes. A single ticket for the RER C plus Metro line 14 costs €4.10. The ride takes just under 40 minutes.
