I'm flying Ryan air and wanted to check in online. It says that I must possess a EU issued passport in order to check in online. Has anyone checked in online with a US issued passport?

Only EU residents are able to check-in on-line. US residents have to do it the old-fashion way by waiting in line at the terminal and paying the extra fee.

No, it usually doesn't take long. It just depends on how long the line is. But make sure you get there early. They are very strict about you checking in 30 minutes before the flight, since they close the check-in desk at that time. You can ask, though, for a refund of the fee that you have to pay to check in at the desk, since you aren't able to check in online. Information about this is on the Ryanair website.
