i'm trying to price a return flight from amsterdam to jfk on iceland air with a stopover in reyjkavik, and i simply cannot make it work on the website. if i put in for a stopover flight, it requires a round trip route. if i put in 'one way', i can only leave from the US, unless i go to the netherland's iceland air page...and then i can't read it, and i can't add a stopover. has anyone done this, and if so, how? i suppose i could call, but what i really want to do is what i always do, which is repeatedly check the price for a few weeks. this seems annoying to do over the phone, not only for me but for the poor person who has to answer my calls. thanks!
What/when is your US to Europe leg? Are you using the multi-city function of the search engine? In any search engine you put in your beginning city, inbetween cities, and final city. I don't understand exactly what you are trying to do.
If you want to just have the Dutch web page translated, download and try Google's Chrome browser - it will do on-the-fly translations of almost any web page text. It's not perfect, but is often 'good enough' - can be very handy.
The Dutch site is set up exactly as it is in English so take a minute or two to familiarize yourself with the set up in English and it will be pretty easy. It even says "stopover" at the top. I put in some random dates and came up with a total price of €440 . Not sure what the exchange rate is exactly as I am watching £'s this year but somewhere close to $625. Icelandair is one of the nice ones that doesn't gouge you for a one-way ticket. You may not be so lucky on your flight over.
Are you buying a one way ticket to fly TO Europe? Why don't you do a "multi-city" or open jaw ticket with a stop over in Iceland on your way home? It gives you the option to do that on their website.
travel date is sometime around august 12th, out of amsterdam with a stopover in reyjkavik on the way home to jfk by august 16th-ish. i found a good rate from jfk to munich on air berlin, so i was only trying to price the return flight; however, i'm not opposed to booking all legs with iceland air. i did try the muti-city thing, with this set up: jfk to munich, amsterdam to reyjkavik, reyjkavik to jfk. i continually got an error message. it did work when i tried jfk-munich-munich-amsterdam-amsterdam-rejykavik-rejykavik-jfk. but i don't want to fly from munich to amsterdam. i will continue to play around with it, as it seems other have had success with it. additionally, i will try to use the .ne site.
I have the same problem. I am taking a cruise ship to Europe so I have no air ticket USA to Europe.
I had trouble with Iceland Air's website and called them for help. They were very helpful and I bought my tickets direct from Iceland Air by phone. Good luck and have a great trip.
