I want to rent a car while in Switzerland - from Montreux to Zermatt area and then from St. Moritz to Lucerne. Is anyone aware of a car rental outfit that doesn't charge ridiculously high fees for one way rentals? Auto Europe is telling me that I need to pay an additional CHF 150 per rental period.
Any advice is most appreciated - thanks!
There is usually not a drop off charge when you p/u and drop off within the same country. Unless I am missing something it looks as if you will pick up and drop off in Switzerland. Sometimes certain types of cars may require a drop off fee within a country but most cars should be exempt from this charge. I would double check with autoeurope about this. Also, check with gemut.com and see what they have to say.
